  • The classic, quintessential english country cottage – ‘chocolate box’ look with a wealth of old features as well as all modern comforts. Thatched and built from mellow stone with roses growing up the walls in a lovely setting. Grade II listed and dating back to the 15th century with a large south facing garden in a small village of approximately 35 houses. Enjoy England/Visit Britain have awarded the Cottage 4*.

    Fully modernised while retaining features such as inglenook fireplace, woodburner (free logs included), exposed beams, wood panelling, window seat, stone spiral staircase as well as oak main stairs, flagstones etc! Ideally positioned near the A303 to visit Sherborne, Glastonbury, Stourhead, Montacute, Longleat and other attractions or to have relaxing walks in the countryside and under an hour from seaside – including Weymouth. Lots of welcoming pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes – from quaint to modern.

  • Located very close to the renowned village of Tintangel, this cottage has hundreds of years behind it, as it dates from the seventeenth century. Aside from the multitude of historical attractions in the area, including castles and ancient churches, you can also visit the famous Eden Project, which helps you become acquainted with the world’s impressive botanical diversity. The region is suitable for indulging in a number of sports, the predominant local one being fly fishing.

    Although the dog friendly accommodation has undergone a complex renovation process, it still maintains many of its original features, its architecture being complemented by the partially antique furnishing. Its beamed ceilings and wood burning fire are particularly charming – one can acquire logs locally at an accessible price. Electricity and heating are provided at a fixed price and in spite of its medieval traits, the dog friendly cottge is equipped with modern kitchen as well as home entertainment appliances. As a family friendly cottage, it offers the use of a highchair and allows bringing a pet. Guests can also use a second roadside parking space, in addition to the enclosed and furnished private garden.

  • As one might deduce from its name, River Cottage is situated on a riverbank, namely that of river Piddle, which it grants unrestrained access to from its garden. Close to endeared tourist destinations such as Salisbury, Bournemouth and Weymouth and also just five miles from Dorchester, where you can find a multitude of facilities. There are good quality eating venues well as touristic attractions in the immediate vicinity of the cottage – as a bonus for staying there, complementary passes are provided for visiting Athelhampton House and Gardens. The many picturesque villages in the surrounding area are a delight to cycle through.

    The cottage dating from the 15th century is fitted with a complex array of services and appliances, electricity and central heating being included in the price. The sitting room is embellished by a wood burner effect electric fire, which creates a romantic atmosphere. In terms of home entertainment, there are no less than three television sets, complete with digital boxes, plus a DVD player and a radio. A special feature guests benefit from is the free use of the owner’s golf course, adjoining the garden.

  • Another bright barn conversion. The Shippen Woodbury cottage located near Exeter in Devon is situated in glorious countryside yet is still close to the well known towns of Exmouth and Sidmouth. A good value accommodation in the South West of England and it allows two pets.

    The accommodation sleeps 4 people and has a well looked after modern decor. The sitting room has a delightful beamed ceiling and the outdoor space for your pets, of which you bring two is generous. There are two bedrooms, one double with ensuite and one with bunk beds.

  • Part of a three cottage complex at Courtyard Cottages, this property is positioned in a picturesque coastal location, just outside Falmouth. The area is rich in natural, historical and cultural attractions and a true joy to explore on foot. The Eden Project, situated nearby, promises a great day out as well as a substantial learning experience; other botanical gardens are available in the vicinity as well. Museums, monuments, castles and cathedrals can also be found in abundance, whilst sailing off the coast provides photographers with excellent panoramic views.

    With a few services incorporated in the price, such as electricity, linen and gas central heating, the cottage is very well equipped in all areas (the kitchen is fitted with a microwave and a laundry service is available as well). Other appliances include a radio, television set and DVD player. For families with children, there is a highchair as well as access to a children’s play area. The grounds of the property are very expansive and visitors enjoy shared access to all six acres, complemented by shared access to the furnished courtyard patio.

  • Dating from the early 18th century, this construction offers both comfort and character, set on vast enchanting grounds visitors are free to roam, where a variety of wildlife can be observed. It is situated in close proximity of Exmoor National Park, as well as Minehead. Coastal walks the area and exploration of nearby harbours is highly enjoyable, as well as sports such as cycling or artistic activities such as photography. Historic vestiges such as Dunster Castle are also plentiful in the region.

    The complex outdoor area offers unfenced access to a river, plus shared access of the garden, a parking space and a furnished veranda. Bed linen, towels and electricity are included in the price; likewise oil central heating and hot water (between late April and mid September, as there is a moderate charge the rest of the year). An electric fire is also available. The kitchen is excellently equipped and the use of a highchair is provided. Moreover, a 20% reduction applies when booking for only two people. What makes Lowood truly special is the availability of carriage driving (at an extra cost), which is bound to be a unique experience.
