  • Only five miles from Dumfries, in a serene rural setting, Carruthers Cottage was built on the Mouswald Place Mansion estate, which dates from the 14th century, its remnants being visible on the property’s grounds. Also located five miles from a sandy beach, it is an ideal place to bide for nature lovers, as the surrounding area is excellent for walking, cycling and bird watching. You can visit nearby Caerlaverock, with its splendid attraction of The Wildlife and Wetland Trust and also the town of Gretna Green, which is famous worldwide as a very romantic eloping destination.

    Aside from being furnished and fitted to provide a high level of comfort, this cottage offers affordable accommodation as the gas and electricity are included in the rent (both the cooker and central heating use gas). The kitchen comprises any everyday use appliance, including a kettle, toaster and microwave; television and a DVD player are also available.   • In a region which is famous for its sports facilities and historical attractions, Church Cottage is located extremely close to Ayr city centre, with its many shopping, eating and entertainment venues. Boasting a renowned natural beauty, its surrounding area is suitable for walking, cycling, water sports, golf (there are a number of award-winning golf courses) and much more. Also, aside from visiting castles and other remnants of bygone times, guests can easily take the ferry to some of the most visited Inner Hebrides, such as Great Cumbrae (Millport being a commended recreational destination) or Arran.

    Church Cottage is ideal for family getaways and a comfortable stay is guaranteed – for instance, if guests have a small child, a highchair and cot can be provided on request. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the Whithorn peninsula and its many sandy beaches. Many activities are available locally such as cycling, golf and horseriding, plus the far reaching countryside is superb for walking with your pets.

Located in the hamlet of Elrig, the converted property was once the village Blacksmith’s meaning it has plenty of history and a story to tell in every room. It is also located just 1.5 miles from the coast at Luce Bay meaning location is convenient too.

    Port William is a three mile drive away, so the setting of the cottage is ideal for people who love exploration. At Port William there are shops, restaurants and local convenience stores such as a Post Office. Other coastal delights including; Isle of Whithorn and Garlieston are also within easy reach. The property itself is very spacious and easy accommodates a family. It has a hall; a kitchen/breakfast room as well as a sitting/dining room complete with a wood burner for a traditional feel.
